Hello Jussi
Do you remember when I mentioned the problems with the game, Head, Skis and Terrain. In addition to the new computer, I connected the old one and played the game on it, it works, but it often freezes, probably due to its age it started to weaken. After much consideration I decided to buy a cheap mini computer, which is also suitable for games, GMKtec computer mini PC G5 Intel N97 12GB RAM DDR5 256GB black and I was really positively surprised, the game works very well, but the problem came with the 24H2 update, the game started to twitch a lot again, head, skis and terrain. I had no choice but to restore the system and stop the updates. I don't know if I should buy a gaming computer and pay a lot more money just to play this game, unless of course this update would ruin it too. I never had any problems with windows 10, but with 11 I have to be very careful about updates. I don't know if this game is so sensitive on these windows and why, is this only happening to me?

Re: Update 24H2 ruins the game
Now it is quite clear that the upgrade to 24H2 also updates the drivers, which affects it because it is an older game. I don't know if it only affects Intel graphics. You can try it on a laptop that only has Intel graphics and I am sure that after the update, the game will not work normally. However, after this update I also found that my phone, which I have had since 2017, no longer connected to the computer, because supposedly the drivers are outdated, but I was able to solve this with Windows defender, device security and shutdown, kernel isolation, and it works normally. On the other hand, I tried the game Alpine Ski Racing 2007, and it works normally. Now I have no choice but to block the 24H2 update and stay on 23H2, I hope it works. Jussi, I don't know what you can do here, but I am sure that this will happen to someone else.

hello Jussi
I know I'm a bit late, but I have to tell you that on this new computer, GMKtec, I set the compatibility in the game to Windows 8 and the game runs smoothly, it just shouldn't update to 24H2, because in this case no setting helps. What I want to tell you is that the game is really not very compatible with Windows 11, and I hope you are working in this direction as well.
I'm looking forward to the new update in the hope that it will work, even with the 24H2 update
Best regards
Andrej

Re: Update 24H2 ruins the game
I know this doesn't solve your issue, but in the future I would recommend sticking strictly to AMD platform which is less prone to various compatibility issues, both for CPU and GPU, as Intel and nVidia are known not to care about gamers one bit. It's clear that this is very specifically hardware related as I can confirm DSJ4 runs as good as ever even with all the latest Win11 24H2 updates and graphics drivers on my all-AMD platform (without having to tinker with compatibility profiles and whatnot). Although, if the issue is known to be caused by 13th and 14th gen, I would expect lots of other people who bought a new rig in last two years to have the exact same issue by now. Maybe there's currently no one on this forum with such hardware, let's see if this gets more common in the coming months as people gradually upgrade their configurations.

Re: Update 24H2 ruins the game
I never thought about it before because I've never had any problems. I have a laptop that's so old that I can't install new Windows on it. It also has an Intel processor and graphics, and it works flawlessly. I don't play other games like that. I don't plan on changing it right now, because it's only a year old and until November last year the game worked fine and I never imagined that one update could ruin it. I also bought a mini GMKtec in the hope that this wouldn't happen to it, but it did, so I went to 23H2 and blocked 24H2. Mini computers are becoming more and more popular because they're fast and quiet, so I think someone else will find themselves in my shoes. This technology is advancing so much that we can't keep up with it anymore, it improves some, and destroys others if you don't keep up with it.
