DSJ4 Update

Post by swiadomski pl »

Hi Jussi,

I know you're working hard on updating the game,
but could you reveal more about what will be included in the latest update?

Happy Holidays!

The focus of the update is on the offline game mode and its configurability.

I think he has already answered somewhere that he doesn't have an approximate release date yet. I'm sure he will announce it when he gets closer to finishing the update, just be patient.

I do this as a part-time job and the update will be a big overhaul to the whole offline game mode, so it's really not possible, and not reasonable to try to make guesses about some exact release date. I have done changes on a broad front and everything has to work perfectly before the release. Deluxe Ski Jump has always been about high quality, so I won't be rushing to release something unfinished.

Jussi, do you consider/have you considered applying a possibilty of multiple inrun gammas & custom dhill widths by any chance in future update?
I think that it would really improve hillmaking capabillities of the game and also it would've made a possibility of making certain real and retro hills that are not feasible to create because of lack of these utilities.
Also it would've made creating fictional hills with more variety & skilled hillmakers would definitely benefit from these features.
I think that it would've been amazing if you were to consider these two things if they're possible to apply in the game.

Best regards Jussi.

I may add more customizability to inrun profiles in some later update. Custom dhill widths are more problematic. I worked on them earlier for more than a week and always came across with unresolvable problems.

oooh, interesting :!:
I didn't mean that it would be planned to subsequent updates - more like that I don't have any short term plans to do it.

Vancouver K300 has custom dhill sides using the inrun-left/right-guard profiles. Maybe you can make the dhill outside these profiles not count for WR/To beat/LR/PB line widths and audience/tree placements? And add the ability for custom lines to rely on these profiles? And make the dhill outside these profiles terrain-painted? Other than that I think Vancouver's implementation doesn't seem to have any issues :)
Lurker since 2001
Better player than Garrean (for around 25 minutes at a time until he tries harder)
