DSJ 4 1.12 - is something going on?
That's what I'm wondering, if something has started to happen as far as the next version of the game is concerned. Any chance of any news on the eventual 1.12?

I have been quite busy with my other job, so no big progress yet, but I'll still try to squeeze something nice to DSJ4 for this winter, too.

There are many things that can be improved, let's say for more visible changes, the jumper closer to the skis, although I don't think it will happen, because he already said last year that it is too much work, but maybe he will surprise us. Which would also be very nice if I changed the leading red to green and I think there would be something else, but let's leave it to the author.

I think it's time for changes in the offline mode, some variety in the World Cup, maybe by adding mini-tournaments, the ability to change jumpers between competitions and maybe even combine the mode with team competitions and create a team classification for the World Cup.

Hiya
I say briefly and it's good that Jussi won't make a new version this Winter season. Because Jussi has school and other activities, not just working on the game.

I haven't been able to put as much time on the developement that I was wishing for, so there won't be an update for the start of season, but maybe for the turn of the year.
So far I have implemented:
- Support for multiple save games
- Copy-paste support for text fields
- Time/date/weather (except wind) configurability for individual competitions (work in progress)

No worries, as long as DSJ is alive again and getting yearly updates I'm very happyJussi Koskela wrote: ↑08 Nov 2023, 20:55 I haven't been able to put as much time on the developement that I was wishing for, so there won't be an update for the start of season, but maybe for the turn of the year.

Have you thought about decoding/releasing as .xml the .skj and .skt files? Currently making jumper/team packs is a horrible experience with fighting the UI, especially now as we have so many customization options. Having them as .xml would be a literal life-changer as you could just make an Excel (or OpenOffice Calc if you prefer) spreadsheet and put all the jumpers you want in the rows and all the parameters (name, country, cpu skill, colors, textures etc.) in the columns and make everything so much faster.
(I'm taking the creation of the spreadsheet>xml converted for granted looking at past developments of the Area converter, Dhill numbers converter, .obj>.xml converter etc. by the community)

I wanted to be able to see the performance of AI-controlled skiers, sort of in a spectator mode. Can you include it in the next update? There is also a guided tutorial, it is very difficult to do a competitive jump.

Integrating a spectator mode for observing AI-controlled skiers in the next update would enhance the gaming experience. Additionally, refining the guided tutorial for competitive jumps could provide players with better insights and ease into the challenge.odaviaferreira wrote: ↑29 Nov 2023, 04:58 I wanted to be able to see the performance of AI-controlled skiers, sort of in a spectator mode. I still need more time, so the update won't be available yet at the turn of year.Jussi Koskela wrote: ↑08 Nov 2023, 20:55 I haven't been able to put as much time on the developement that I was wishing for, so there won't be an update for the start of season, but maybe for the turn of the year.

Jussi, you should stop making this game. you need an oasis of peace. and a break from making the game for several years. I wish there were no updates even in 2024. Or, Jussi, it would be better if you abandoned the project for about 10 years?
