According to a recent discussion with Jussi, wind speed should not depend on what time of day a race takes place. I quickly collected some data on this and there's a clear dependence: wind speeds are notably stronger at night. Therefore this is a bug, albeit not a major one.
NIGHT classification: lights switched on
DAY
Average wind speed (estimated, from 15 cases): 0.72 m/s
Highest avg: 1.5 m/s
Lowest avg: 0.3 m/s
NIGHT
Average wind speed (estimated, from 15 cases): 1.68 m/s
Highest avg: 2.1 m/s
Lowest avg: 1.4 m/s
Highest daytime winds occurred at twilight when lights were not yet needed. The average daytime wind speed would possibly be higher if I had more races at twilight time. Lowest winds of course occurred when it was closer to noon. Night-time wind speeds never dropped below 1 m/s.
The data was collected doing races with a single jumper, simulating an online situation. Wind behavior in longer offline competitions might not be accurately known.

1. Clicking 'World Cup' (with 1 jumper)
2. jumping 2 jumps and writing wind speed down
3. going back to menu
But you did this 15 times, right?

Re: Bug in wind speed behavior
I jumped a few World Cups (with all hills, qualification rounds included) until I got enough cases which was 15 day AND night races. I wrote them down on a piece of paper. Note the wind speeds averages are estimations that shouldn't be too far off reality.Dydux666 wrote:Seems weird, but i'm not sure if i inderstand it. You did this:

LOL, it's funny, shouldn't it be compeletly random?
But it could be feature in Sapporo, these competitions are really windy...

I had a look on this and found out that this correlation may exist (depending on the timing) if you are jumping with 1 ski jumper / 1 team.
I'll fix it to v1.1.1.
