Yohoho and a bottle of rum sometimes I feel like joining the jumpers who do impossible feats and using win 98 to play dsj and cheat my booty to the top like our two buddies from Czech and the other couple of cheaters. Tired of getting ok pbs for them to look like a joke and about 10 meters behind the wr line. Given this the good side of me stops me from cheating and playing alongside the truly good jumpers fairly.

Jussi, I know that you won't ban anyone basing on speculations.. Therefore I stopped fighting for kicking JJ and SP out of DSJ.. But tell me.. Do you really believe that these jumps are clean?
214,5m in Austria and 239,5m in Russia on 7th November.. Yeah, as we can see everyone makes such long jumpes at one evening..
Just give me a bottle of whisky and I'll jump 215m and 240m in 20 minutes..
There is no point in adding new hills, as JJ and SP will spoil everything instantly..

That's absurd...
Jussi... time to change it...
Do you really want to lose for example a half of all jumpers in your fantastic game? I love dsj3, but I hate cheating and those fcking cheaters! ;/
They have about 150 meters more in total lenght, than normal players... You think, that it's completely normal situation? But I don't thinks so...
I'm completely sure that you know that they're cheating all the time... But I have no idea why you nothing to do with this...
Best regards,
Michal Skalik

Well, I still want those new hills..Ralph K. wrote: There is no point in adding new hills, as JJ and SP will spoil everything instantly..
I'm competing against myself and other "no slowdowners" in total length and supreme hill records...
I agree about how frustrating it is that "pfleger's wr-line" is faaaar away from my best jumps, but I'm getting used to it.. this is how DSJ always has been.
I have suggested this before, but I still thinks that it is a good idea:
"Automatic save of replay if you get a top 10 or 15 hill record in the world"
This replay should be saved to mediamond's server, and a link for download of these replays should automatic be added in the recordlist for the public.
In that way we all can see how the jump is done.
I know that it is not easy to tell if it's used slowdown or not, because of different sensitivity of mouse, and that some players just "slow-down" the game a bit.
So there will maybe be some arguing about cheating or not, but still its better than not knowing how the record was performed.
What do you others think about this idea?
And still: I'm looking forward to online-hillrecordlist

I fully agree with Kjell and support his suggestions here.
And I don't believe a lot of people give up gaming just because of the cheated WR's. There's a lot more to the game than world records and record lists. First of all the online competition. Even if some cheaters should be banned, and more cheat prevention added, I am sure it will only be a matter of time before some idiot is back with a new identity and a new way of cheating. If we should once more delete the lists, I say that's a high price: We loose all our honestly earned personal records just the way we did with the introduction of v.1.6. For how long were we in paradise back then?
More serious than the cheated WR's is, in my opinion, the rumours that some players also is cheating online. I really hope something can be done to reduce the possibility to do that... Because this both affects the aspect of fair competition online, and the whole point with introducing online record lists!

A way to prevent this is to shorten the time at start and end of jump in online game.

As I have already said many times, the fact is that cheating can never be detected 100% - not in DSJ and not in any game. I have spent numerous days working on anti-cheating measures, but there will always be some ways to cheat whatever I do. You will just have to live with that and play fairly yourself. Pointing fingers at some players' results won't do any good. All the results are considered clean until otherwise proven. That's how it works in real life, too.
Edit: If someone has ideas how to actually catch the cheaters (reliably) i'll be happy to implement it and kick all the caught players out from the hill records list for good.
