not realistic: rotation and distance ski / body

Post by Olinku »

I think that the optimal distance between ski and body at DSJ 4 is far more than in reality...

the skis have to be horizontal for good jumps in dsj 4 - in reality it is posibel to rotate over horizon at good jumps...

result is, that on one hand the jump is messy, when you try to jump active - the ski will fall down and the jumper lose a
lot of high without making speed... the system body / ski is not stabil enough in my eyes...

the view of the jumper is to much down to the skis - not over the skis a little bit in the neck...

and because the connection between ski and body is not stable enough - at the landing the skis are comeing up when you click to land - that looks very strange...

the inrunpossition is perfect

the hills - I miss the radius in the inrun - or with other words - the table itself is too long - at the four hills we have right now...

to change this points will have two effects in my eyes - first dsj4 will be easier for newbies and second a lot more challengeing for people who will play a lot and try to find the best possible jump...

Jussi, I hope that landing in full version will be much much more difficult like in beta1 and 2 ?

*******TOURNAMENTS EVERY DAY********

It's stupid that there is only 1 tournament per week and its on Saturday when everyone are drinking ;) There should be tournament every day and start 20:00. That way online mode would stay active.

No, no, no.
Weekly online tournament have own atmosphere, this is big tournament but when we have daily online tournament, every tournament is big, so every tournamnt is small.

the jumpers are in the hip (and the connection food / ski as well) to flexible - I never met a jumper who is flexible like a snakeman... ;) and todays telemark is not possible like it looked in the 90s or 80s or earlier... ;)

it is easy to do too much in the air and the jumper get overgrate air - next, the skis fall down and the jump is totally messy... But: even in reality the jumping is a lot saver and more stable since we have V - style and todays bindings... How many jumpers has this problem in reality and how many jumpers will fall during a season (because of overdraw) ? Compare in 10 years steps and you will see - and take a look which kind of falling we have nowadays and 10 years before and so on...
in beta 2 it means, that the take off is more important and the flying in the air is a lot too passiv (or you fall quickly) - I think, it needs a little adaptation...

and - there are different styles in reality - compare the flying curve of Severin and Morgenstern - or better Evensen and Kofler and Schlieri... Maybe there could be a difference at the take off - how fast the mouse will be moved makes a difference in how the jumps operates and on other hand - how the flying position will be? That could mean, that maybe player x has an advantage on smaller hills and player y on larger hills - player z on backwinds and so on... it will be more challenging for the better players and easier for beginners... ;)

Precipation and speed

Post by Pavlokox »

Precipation (snowing) may have an influence on an in-run maximal speed (take-off speed). It can change during a competition. The more precipation change, the less is possibility that it would happen.
