Totally agree with these points. Would be splendid if (some of) it could be implemented in the full version. Especially 1) and 3) would make the game even better. The more realistic, the better. I like the new style and jumping technique, but it should still be possible to jump like Janda or Kasai without losing balance.MrMojoRisin wrote:1) Well, I think the jumper's position should be closer to the skies (not as close as in DSJ3 but more agressive, especially with the front wind). Look at the real ski jump videos from Lahti or Harrachov, then turn F2 angle, you'll see the difference.
2) Maybe some dangerous (but rare) wind gusts or rapid changes of wind direction? It should make jumper's position unstable and enlarge a risk of crash.
3) Wind compensation system as an option.
4) CPU changes length of an inrun during the competition (also as an option).
5) Longer flights should be more difficult to land.
These are only my little wishes, because the game (even beta-1) is brilliant! Most realistic and playable ski jumping game
Ideas & suggestions for next beta/full version

Plusy Bety (:))
-Physics
-Gameplay
-Graphics
-Difficulty (very hard to jump HS - very good)
Suggestions
-How much hill.
-Add a few designs of helmets, skis (np.kask in the grip, ala Red Bull).
-World Cup mode could have pre-imposed order of the hill, etc.
-New Tournament modes, where you can set everything yourself.
-Improve the shading. (Static Light in running start.) Lighting hill should be all dynamic (it would be cool).
-Make an animation of joy and sadness (activated by press the up and down on the keyboard).
-Make the fans hats, scarves, flags.
-You can assign a specific style for each jumper flight (widely spaced and parallel skis, V, etc.).
I'm from Poland, and my English is poor. Sorry for errors.

One technical question. Jussi, what you think about possibility to allow fans, modding your game? Im asking for one reason - career mode. I know that you never implement that in dsj4, because its more like multiplayer game for now.
But there are some people (feg me) who will NEVER play onilne. And game for those people are so intresting.
Could be possible to give fans tool to make such addons like, sponsors, different cups, injuries, and so on?

Suggestion for online record lists: Best countries - please differ between "total" and "average" lists. "Total" will remain as is, "average" will introduce a ranking based on total nation points divided by total number of players per nation, resulting in the average score of a nation. This "average" rating should be much more exciting, because with the total rating, it doesn't refelect class but only mass ... quantity instead of quality ...
And maybe it is also possible to have players listed in the online rankings once they've connected to the online mode once? As is now, players who play online only show up in the online rankings after they've submitted their OFFLINE (!) records, which doesn't make any sense. There ARE players who play online but don't submit their offline records, so these players are missing in the online rankings.

Sounds like a good idea.EyTschej wrote:Suggestion for online record lists: Best countries - please differ between "total" and "average" lists. The online rankings are not automatically listed on the website due to privacy reasons (not everyone playing online wants his/her name there). The current system might be a bit confusing, but it serves it's purpose.EyTschej wrote: And maybe it is also possible to have players listed in the online rankings once they've connected to the online mode once? Cosmetics:
Sometimes, depends on weather, the inrun has 2 very similar colors (gray and a bit lighter) if you play in a bigger zoom it's almost impossible to aim the right moment for take off. Maybe just change the last part of inrun to much darker or e.g. red or something. Would really appreciate it, and i know it's not only me

I would love to see that, too. I've suggested it before. But from the current beta, I have the impression that Jussi has mainly been working on the graphics so far and a GOOD career mode would require quite a few changes, I believe. The jumpers would have to become more complex i.e. they needed to have a physical condition which gets affected by training, number of jumps/competitions, crashes and quality of their material. The rest would probably "only" be a manager game, but in order to have a good career mode, those changes to the jumper would be vital, I believe. And I don't think Jussi could implement such changes before long. Might take some time ... maybe till ... I dunno ... I'll include some twigs to the end of the inrun.Metsi wrote:Cosmetics:

This is not on priority. The career in DSJ means getting better by practicing yourself. For the use of terms olympics / 4 hills tournament I would need to get official licenses (=too expensive).shaking wrote:I would rellay love to see a Career Feature in DSJ4. I would say you start as a young jumper with limited skills from the jumping power for example and than you have the possibility to jump about 15 worldcups, olympic games and World champions chips, 4 hills tournament. That would be great.
