Right you are. The texture used to be upside down and at that time left and right were correct.
Is it too late to change it now?

Maybe the flipped texture could be called bottom-v2.png and the game would interpret, based on the name, how the texture should be treated.

I also originally planned to add an xml file identifying the version of the texturing, but that was left out from v1.11 due to lack of time. Another option would be to include this xml now for updated texture sets and choose the behavior/compatibility based on that.

Missing xml-file -> version 1, otherwise version is read from the xml.

It's really easy to mirror it even in Paint, so I don't think it's too late to change it yet. Afaik the only part mass-produced until now is skis :lol:
The XML file idea is good too, maybe it should be included with the binding/boot etc. update?

This bug was fixed in DSJ4 v1.11.2. The game now supports helmet textures in DSJ4-v1.11.0 and DSJ4-v1.11.2 formats.

If you want to migrate to new (fixed) format:
  1. Copy-paste Helmet.xml from the template folder to your custom helmet folder.
  2. Mirror the bottom texture horizontally.
