Realistic lines on summer hills

Post by Pavlokox »

I know that it was talked and maybe it is even impolite to start again with, it but I think it is a nice idea.

Winter lines are different each year, but summer lines are in general unique for each hill.

I suppose that players jump on summer hills rarely, they prefer winter jumping. Adding realistic summer lines would make summer jumping more interesting and realistic and give new look to summer hills.

The only question is what to do with summer lines on hills which are without mattings (like ski flying hills)? In my opinion - just don't do anything to current lines on them.

I agree, im never jumping on summer hills, because it's boring for me. The realistic lines will add a new quality for summer jumping. And i think that on every hill the plastic should have a realistic colour, not the only one tint of green. For example:
- brighter on Kuopio: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File: ... _Puijo.jpg
- darker on Bischofshofen: http://www.skocznie.pl/wp-content/uploa ... arska2.jpg

The best will be a small "lines editor", but i know it's impossible ;)

The plastic cover's are already colored based on the real counterparts. Different lighting conditions change the perception of the hue. For example in this photo the plastic covering in Kuopio looks much darker.

I do not want to reproach Mr. Jussi, but he wrote here: http://www.mediamond.fi/forum/viewtopic ... e&start=45

"So, maybe correct range of lines in the next version and custom styles in the following. Custom styles requires a lot more work."

"Customized (=real) style of lines for each hill."

Correct range had been added in version 1.1, but then nothing was done with lines on any hill.

List of what is to be changed with lines on summer hills in game:

Bischofshofen HS140 - K-Point and HS - in reality they are not full - red on each side and white in the middle like other lines. Must be added short blue line (landing zone) on each side.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen HS140 - like above
Kuopio HS127 - white lines should be wider, almost from side to side. In reality there is no HS line and there is full blue landing zone line.
Kuusamo HS142 - HS line should be removed, landing zone full blue line added, white lines at 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 135 and 145 divided into 4 short lines
Lahti HS130 - line at 95 removed, full blue landing zone added, lines at 105, 110, 115, 120, 125 divided into 8 short lines, HS line turned into white line divided into 8 short lines
Lillehammer HS100 - full blue line landing zone added, HS line turned into normal white line
Lillehammer HS138 - like in Bischofshofen HS140 and Garmisch-Partenkirchen HS140
Sapporo HS134 - full blue line landing zone added, HS line removed, short red lines on each side at 138 added
Val di Fiemme HS106 - full blue line landing zone added, each white line divided into about 7-10 short lines, HS line turned into white line divided into about 7-10 short lines (only red near sides)
Val di Fiemme HS134 - full blue line landing zone added, each white line divided into about 10-13 short lines, HS line turned into white line divided into about 10-13 short lines (only red near sides)
Villach HS98 - full blue landing zone added, HS line turned into lenght of normal white line (this line should has 5 short red lines on itself)
Zakopane HS94 - http://berkutschi.com/assets/images/new ... 1371545222
Zakopane HS134 - http://www.stachon.org/albums_c890d87fa ... rokiew.jpg

I said maybe and I have considered other improvements more important than adjusting the summer lines, so it's still not implemented.

I'm with pavlokox on this theme. Specific lines for each hill would certainly make this game playable.

I agree with pavlokox. I think the realistic lines should take the "atmosphere" like in real ;)

It's not needed. Too much work and low effect.

It's a small thing, but by then hills will be more realistic.

Do you made since 2013-05-14 (DSJ4 1.4.4) only K.O system and two hills?
