Hello,

saw an Ahonen jumping online. That leads me to the question if you know professionals who play DSJ. I remember Daniel Forfang who played sometimes last winter, but that is so far the only one.

I have seen Andreas Wilberg play a few times (he participated in Trondheim 2 weeks ago). Also, though not ski jumpers, John Arne Riise, Steffen Iversen, and Fredrik Strømstad of the norwegian national football team logged on a few times last winter.

well nah, the takeoff itself was quite good, but my right ski got no angle at all... thus I had to quit the jump... well anyway net try tomorrow

Have you ever tried to implement sev-style in real jumping?
It could be the biggest invention since V-style

I remember time when you jumped WR on Slo- 288.64.. You were one of the best players DSJ2. Good luck in the real! Next time you will beat all of them... except Adam Małysz

@Severin: I remember a DSJ jumping in Winter 2006, when you told about your hobby skijumping that you also jump in reality, but just as a hobby.

You may understand me: I almost have not believed my eyes, when I watched a young German taking part in the qualification on Friday, who was subtitled as Severin Freund and even get through the qualification.
I was anxious to the Saturday Final Round. What happened? On the screen it seemed as if you had some problems directly after the take-off. Wind from the left side?
Rohwein shook his head, but I understand this not as negative criticism, but as anger about the enviroment.

Really interesting that real Professionals like to play DSJ. That is a form of direct interaction I had never thought of, when started to watch Skijumping in the early ninties, when I was still a small child.

Good luck for tommorrow. Yesterday's jump was not that bad. Surprisingly good! You seem to be of great talent.

Alright, Severin made it through the qualification again. Hopefully he's not gonna try out some "classic" style like yesterday again. You really shouldn't try to fly with your arms unless they are wings

That's what I thought - the takeoff was good. Unfortunately, there was no replay of the takeoff on TV, but I figured it must have been good. Otherwise you wouldn't still have reached 88 m with such a bad try.

Half an hour to go - let's see how it goes today. I expect Severin in the Top 40 ...

Der Absprung war wirklich gut, einer der besten den Winter... ABER hab dann das V nicht symetrisch geöffnet, daher hat der linke zuviel und der rechte zuwenig Druck bekommen, ergo hat mich verdreht... Naja, ist halt ärgerlich dass das genau dann passieren muss, macht halt jetzt den Eindruck als ob wir vom COC kommen aber dann im WC doch nichts können Aber denke trotzdem dass wir auf nem guten Weg sind, auch wenn man das noch nicht sieht

Also in den Augen der deutschen Medien war das natürlich ein super schlechter Eindruck, den Erik und du hinterlassen haben. Mir aber ist natürlich nicht entgangen, dass ihr in Rovaniemi stabil gute Sprünge gezeigt habt - und zwar bei allen drei Wettbewerben. Wank und Musiol haben ja beim dritten Wettbewerb ihre guten Ergebnisse der ersten beiden Wettkampftage nicht bestätigen können. Im Training in Engelberg war das alles ja auch etwas besser, daher hatte ich dir schon eine Platzierung unter den Top 40 zugetraut, das wäre für dieses Wettkampfwochenende wohl dein Leistungsbereich gewesen. Aber sei's drum. Bist ja in Oberstdorf und GaPa dabei. Zweimal für den Wettkampf qualifizieren, das taugt dann schon. Und danach im COC weiter gut arbeiten, denn die Bäume wachsen nicht in den Himmel. Nach dem letzten Winter ist das ja jetzt schon toll, was du leistest. Ist ja jetzt schon deine erfolgreichste Saison - und kann noch erfolgreicher werden. Mal einen COC zu gewinnen, wäre doch eine feine Sache, oder?

Was anderes, was mir auffiel: im Fernsehen zumindest sah es so aus, als ob du ein leichtes X springst, also die Skienden überkreuzt. Da fällt mir spontan ein Martin Koch ein, der das vor einigen Jahren auch noch "gerne" gemacht hat. Habe ich das im Fernsehen richtig erkannt? Ist aerodynamisch nicht das beste, oder? Die Haltungsrichter ziehen für so etwas auch schon mal 0,5 Punkte ab, glaube ich? Also ich weiß das alles nicht genau, daher frage ich

Hallo Severin,

ich mache dann auch mal kurz auf Deutsch weiter.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu Deinem Erfolg in der Quali in Oberstorf. War sehr symphatisch wie Du da immer wieder auf dem Podest seelig in die Kamera gegrinst hast. Ich sehe das ja nur von außen, aber Deine Absprungkraft scheint wirklich konkurrenzfähig zu sein.
