Less detailed jump length displaying.
Less detailed jump length displaying.
When I play with friends, it often annoys us when we jump for ex. 116.76m. We dream about displaying 116.5m instead. Could you add an option in options menu to choose displaying length of jump between:
1) rounding down to half meter and
2) exact length ?

I don't like this idea... If there would be 116.5 and without 116.16 record hunting would be nonsense .staly wrote:When I play with friends, it often annoys us when we jump for ex. 116.76m. hill records could still be displayed accurate to 0.01mDydux666 wrote:I don't like this idea... Definitely doable and nice idea. I like when features are up to choose.

I mean displaying only, not cutting/rounding down the real distance.Dydux666 wrote:I don't like this idea... For ex.:
Code: Select all
116.0 -> 116.00-116.49
116.5 -> 116.50-116.99

Re: Less detailed jump length displaying.
i thought the correct rounding was
115,75 - 116,24 = 116,0m
116,25 - 116,74 = 116,5m
etc...
115,75 - 116,24 = 116,0m
116,25 - 116,74 = 116,5m
etc...
Re: Less detailed jump length displaying.
in DSJ rounding is down so 116= [116.00;116.49]pepsiman89 wrote:i thought the correct rounding was

Re: Less detailed jump length displaying.
I like this idea.....and i believe that it should be count like this:
116,00 to 116,25=116,0
116,26 to 116,75=116,5
116,76 to 116,99=117,0
116,00 to 116,25=116,0
116,26 to 116,75=116,5
116,76 to 116,99=117,0
Re: Less detailed jump length displaying.
Like I've already written, the rounding have to be like that:
And I'm telling why:
We have to round the equal distance to the distance that we reached.
116.65 -> 116.5 = Did we reach 116.5 ? Yes, we did.
116.89 -> 117.0 = Did we reach 117.0 ? No, we didn't.
I hope You know what's going on in my idea.
Code: Select all
116.0 -> 116.00-116.49
116.5 -> 116.50-116.99
We have to round the equal distance to the distance that we reached.
116.65 -> 116.5 = Did we reach 116.5 ? Yes, we did.

Re: Less detailed jump length displaying.
I absolutely agree with this, and it should be implemented as soon as possible IMHO. I have used DSJ since the first version, and Jussi changed it on request (albeit to 1,5 meter steps). It has since been reverted, which I can understand as people sent in their personal records to the website. But as the original poster said, it is for DISPLAY purposes only, not for saving and comparing records.
When Jussi goes to such lengths (pun intended) to make the game as realistic as possible, it just looks weird when lengths are displayed this way. Please include this option in an otherwise near-perfect game, Jussi!

This is now on my todo list.
Re: Less detailed jump length displaying.
Please make it optional. I still want to see the exact distance of all jumps in competitions.Jussi Koskela wrote:This is now on my todo list.
