Copper Peak Adventure Ride
Posted: 15 Jun 2011, 20:47
Been on Vacation just 5 miles down the road from Copper Peak Ski Flying Hill since last Tuesday staying at Big Powderhorn Ski Resort.
They finally opened up for the season today 6/15/2011. So we went down and checked out the jump. There will no more ski jumping
at this hill, its more of tourist attraction now and in winter used for snowmobile hill climbing comps. Its quite the adventure getting to
the top of the jump. Chairlift ride takes you up a cliff. Then you get off on the top only walk down a 400ft trail that drops about 40ft
behind the hilltop to get to the elevator for the ride up. Then you must climb up the stairs to the top. Rather un-nerving when you get
to the stairs that are the open type steel fencing. Looking down through it . Its a long drop and the wind up here is always strong.
Take a look through the shots in a slideshow on Flickr. Will have 1080P video of the adventure up next week when we make our way
back home.
