Crash Physics
Re: Crash Physics
Cody, we don't really care so much about what you think about this game. The game doesn't need you to evolve neither.

Re: Crash Physics
Uhm... ofcourse it does. Say, does the current jumper model look good to you Cody, or would you prefer one that has 25 polys and looks like s**t? It woudnt make the game any less realistic... OFCOURSE IT WOULD.Giving a game good-looking graphics won't make it "realistic".
You seem to be criticizing this game so much... why do you even play it?
Re: Crash Physics
I never said I don't like the game, I love it.pepsiman89 wrote:Uhm... ofcourse it does. If you say yes then I'm serious, if you say no then I'm joking.
Re: Crash Physics
all forms of simulation is attempts. there is no complete and perfect simulation, because computers do not - truly - consider randomness. thus only extremely focused and simple things may be simulated perfectly.Cody Hann wrote:I loved how you said "tries"
Re: Crash Physics
There will never be a perfect simulation of the world, because the simulation would have to include itself.

That's what I'm trying to say here..alexander wrote:all forms of simulation is attempts. there is no complete and perfect simulation, because computers do not - truly - consider randomness. thus only extremely focused and simple things may be simulated perfectly.Cody Hann wrote:I loved how you said "tries"

Re: Crash Physics
then what you are trying to say and what you are in fact saying are two very different things, as you were clearly stating (on page one of this thread) that DSJ wasn't realistic, and that approximating reality doesn't make things realistic - which is absurd, considering that the very definition of realism is approximating reality.
Re: Crash Physics
Oh please, could you quote where I said that? I can't find it.alexander wrote:then what you are trying to say and what you are in fact saying are two very different things, as you were clearly stating (on page one of this thread) that DSJ wasn't realistic, and that approximating reality doesn't make things realistic - which is absurd, considering that the very definition of realism is approximating reality.

Re: Crash Physics
Man Cody, youre a real ass.
In my opinion, all games are unrealistic.

Cody Hann wrote:Oh please, could you quote where I said that? I can't find it.
OK.
here you say that DSJ is unrealistic, as well as going to state that in fact *all* games are unrealistic:
(in response to someone who said that DSJ is realistic)Cody Hann wrote: No.
Cody Hann wrote:In my opinion, all games are unrealistic. Especially this one.
here you say that approximating reality is not the point of realism:
Cody Hann wrote:Making the game act how it would be in real life won't make it ..."realistic".
you could however easily have found these posts yourself if you could be bothered to look on the previous page of this thread.

I've said that DSJ is unrealistic, just like every other game, too.
Is that a problem to you?
If you say yes then I'm serious, if you say no then I'm joking.
Re: Crash Physics
my point is that your understanding of what constitutes realism is lacking or just wrong. realism equals approximating real life. DSJ attempts representing real life ski jumping, and to a great degree actually succeeds - thus it is realistic. and so are loads of other games.

you guys want to stop this off topic ? please
