From Real Life to the Slopes of DSJ

Hey everyone!
I’m Skyler, new here on the forum and still trying to master that perfect takeoff timing. Thought I’d share a small off-topic story, about how I went from standing on real snow to discovering Deluxe Ski Jump.
I grew up in Colorado, not far from the mountains. Winters there were basically an open invitation to ski. My family wasn’t big on expensive resorts, but we’d find quiet slopes, set up a small ramp, and see who could jump the farthest. I’ll never forget one winter when I actually managed to fly for what felt like forever.
Fast-forward a few years, I’m scrolling online one night and find DSJ by complete accident. The first jump I made brought back every bit of that feeling: the nervous start, the silence in the air, the landing that could go perfectly... or terribly. It’s crazy how a simple game can capture that same real-life thrill.
Anyone else here who got into DSJ because of a real skiing experience? Would love to hear how your story connects to the slopes.
