wind "waiters"
wind "waiters"
Today it was already going too far.
J'm jumping here over the year, on online - and since when here I was - whether was 15 whether 10 seconds for the jump it has always been gentelman agreement - we aren't waiting for the change of the wind, okay - for everyone they will manage later for different reasons to start jumping later - but not notoriously!! if the situation won't change it is I - pare still of persons we will be putting forward a motion to shorten the time from 10 seconds to 5 in order to avoid generally speaking waiting. I ask for thinking over the matter by persons which well know that they have something on the conscience.

Well, changing it to 5 seconds could be good for speed of the competitions, but there are some problems which makes it a bit complicated(for example you wouldn't manage to run to a WC between the hills, lags, and other unexpected "events"-telephone,conversation etc). But I''m sure everyone would get used to it after some time, but windwaiting won't disappear, 5 seconds is still enough.

I dont se the problem with waiting on the wind. Iv done so on multiple occasions and i have never heard any whine at all. Ofc it draws out for the rest if the guys who are not waiting. And i have never heard of the gentleman ageement. I dont speak any polish but starting a vote to kick someone of the gane is rubbish, childish and stupid. I for one will continue to wait for the wind as it suits me.

IMO it is far better nowadays with 10secs compared to the old 15secs.
With 5 secs the weathercondition would be almost similar to everyone, that's an advantage but that also takes away that tactical aspect or "luck" you might get by jumping instantly or try to wait.
Anyhow I would like to have Marathons with 5secs start light as default, just to shorten them down.
Even more I would vote for shortening down the time between jumps, for example the introduction for next hill could definetly be only 5 secs.

This is a internation forum. The language is English. If you cant resepct that go to the polish part of the forum.
On topic :
Yes. Shortening some of the times would be great. In my oppinion the marathons are to long. I dont mind the 40 man tournaments they need to be an hour or so but 4-5 hours are to long for me atleast.

Occational waiting for better wind is part of the game and no problem as I see it. But as the op points out, some people seem to wait notoriously. When they allways wait, even when the wind is good, that's a bit odd.
IMO it is much more annoying with those who never press "ready" between the jumps. There are some persons who simply never presses ready. I understand that chatting, phonecalls etc. can be a reason to wait now and then, but not every single time. For each hill in a tournament there are five such waiting periods iin addition to the three times on top of the hill. 5x10 sec.x40 hills = 33 minutes. Just a thought: What if the possible waiting time in between the hills (not the windwaiting time) was not narrowed down, but set to endless? This would perhaps make people wake up? Just kidding of course But, well, I simply think it's more fun to play then to sit and wait.

When there are 75+ jumper as it was yesterday its not very easy to get them all to push ready imediatly, people chat and rush to toilet etc.. 10 sec is fine by me..
But I want better wind.. Its not cool to jump with wind from behind or side in 90% of the hills..
Perhaps 95%?
