Oh..my..God!! FANTASTIC GAME! Absolutely brilliant. Physics aspects are ideal. Great new animations, all of them are so real (love the skiis moving depending on weather conditions). Better, nicer hill shape, overall graphics are improved. Finally, REAL hills based on real life, and CROWD. Wohoo, I'm shocked in positive way.

Here are also few tips:
- Let me say first, I'm really happy about the crowd, but you should improve the clothes..there are so bright colours and it breaks the atmosphere. And they all war summer clothers:). Maybe it could be nice to see people wavin flags as a real support for jumpers. And also SOUND should be nice. Chants, fans shouting, anything to make some atmosphere in game

- I prayed for new atributes for jumpers. I think it could be so cool if you add those: Ability to keep ideal flying position /0-100/, Landing /0-100/, Taking-off /0-100/, Mentality/Pressure /0-100/, and something like "Hill prefering" to recognize jumpers and fliers (Kranjec, Koch, Hajek who are not that good at smaller hills, but rock in large hills...180+)

- Maybe some new game modes if it's possible

All in all, the game looks perfect and you are on the right way! Keep up the good work!

This game it's not realistic.. it's easy but not realistic..
Otherwise, great job Jussi.. it's only beta :)

The angle between the jumper and his skis is too large, the physics are quite weird and I'm not sure if they are realistic :) It makes the game quite hard, and it's a real challenge to jump over HS

I think in the full version the physics could be improved a bit :)

Anyway, great job!

Just some graphics things to improve in my opinion:
- clothes of the spectators
- snow looks too white in hot weather, it should be more "icy"
- one of the judges should be automatically from the hosting nation ;)

  • Fans are dressed inappropriately to the weather. It's alright as long, as competitions take place in summer.
  • Training mode should allow wind, weather and daytime modification. Possibly start gates (high, normal, low) too. Records doesn't matter anyway.
  • Maybe blood on a snow after some crashes is a weird idea, but why not? Possible to turn off in settings.
Jussi said he will buy winter clothes for the spectators :)

You CAN change the weather, wind and daytime in practice. Just hit settings on the right down side before selecting hill.

I dont think blood is a good idea. Many young people play this game also. I think there is way more than enough blood in other games, lets not bring this to DSJ.

IMO the commentary is completely unnecessary in a game like DSJ.

Fantastic job, this game is awesome. But the optimal angle between skis and jumper is much to high. The magic thing in DSJ3 was that there was no thing such as perfect jumper "position" when he is flying - bigger angle between skis and jumpers gave the higher flight position but less flight speed. In DSJ4 unfourtanetly there is such a thing like "perfect flight position" - it's impossible to jump like Janda or Ammann with low angle between skis and jumper's body, to get nice jump you have to make big angle. I hope in final version it will be corected and like in DSJ3 you will decide yourself if you want to take high angle (high flight, low speed) or small angle (huge speed, not so high flight). So there is only one jumping technique in DSJ4 and it's very very bad (it is similar to shity games like RTL Ski Jumping and so on, where it's only one way to do long jumps) I hope you understand what I mean :)

There also should be option to configure weather conditions in particular World Cup competitions - without it offline torunaments will have no sense (everybody will jump in different conditions).

My first impressions:

+ great, great physics!
+ movement of jumper, especially when jumping off, seems very realistic
+ flags
+ real hills (wonderful, yeah!!!:-))
+ more difficult to make larger jumps
+ changing of the wind & weather in practice
+ it is addictive!!:-)

- no changing possibility of gates
- like other mentioned before: distance between jumper and ski to big
- no different jumping techniques

I now will play another hour, perhaps i find other pros and contras.

Great Work, Jussi!

So, basically I really like it very much, definitely a step forward from v3...

As mentioned yet, the angle between skis and jumper should get a bit smaller, that's one thing I noticed...

The next thing is, that there could be a bit of more stability during the takeoff and also in the flight. Don't get me wrong it's definitely better this way than in v3, but right now it's just slightly off balance to the other way... Possibility to crash in the air is perfect, but it happens a bit to soon. But these are just first thoughts, perhaps this will be better if the sensitivity would be reduced further down...

One thing I still would like to have is to duplicate jumpers. I still like them to have their own style, but it just takes so much time to dress every single jumper...

Big surprise about dsj4 ist that its...freaking amazing:) Animations during take off, flight and landing is almost unbeliaveable! You can see the similarity to v3 in graphics, but every other thing is so different an i think better (and this is only beta, so we can imagine how it will works in final release).

I've got one big question to you Jussi: Is there any chance to see in final release, controlling jumper during inrun? You know, one dimensional mouse steering of position in inrun, which affects on inrun speed. As other people said, its quite boring if theres only one perfect position in flight, and theres only one perfect position in inrun (which is cpu controlled for now).

Anyway, cheers from Poland Jussi, you surprised me again:)
