Suggestion
Couldn't find anything like that (and don't have time just to read 40+ pages?!), so...
Since we play'd DSJ2 there is one thing that, in my opinion, is just annoying. After every single jump we've to watch the big results table. For what? It's unnecessary. I think it'd be even better, if the player has the possibility to choose. Example:
Right click: like now, big results are opened and we would see "Next" buttons etc
Left click? Competition goes on immediately. Little time delay, while the athlete and necessary things are loaded and than it could look like this...
Small table with standings on the right, disappears not later than the 10 secs an athlete has to go. Otherwise it could fade out when the player hits right or left button to start.

The skis will be two-coloured, meaning that the underside of the ski will have a black stripe as in reality, apart from the chosen colour.

why seems everyone to be so much into cosmetic stuff?
a screen trashed with useless junk is not really so much of eyecandy.
'gaming' is the central idea of this game and not "oh look, that's so beatiful how i screwed my jump because i was looking and that stupid little logo in the upper right corner"

My suggestions to speed up the jumping:
~ delete qualification start list because its unnecessary (everyone jumps at the same time so there no need for that)
~ the time in result table should be dependent on how many players are playing:
1-9 players: 5 seconds
10-19 players: 6 seconds
20-29 players: 7 seconds
30-39 players: 8 seconds
40-49 players: 9 seconds:
50+ players: 10 seconds
~ reduce cup results time from 20s to 10s (when there will be 10+ hills it could be increased back to 20s)
