Jussi, will it be possible to create for hill rating, some secondary skillset? I have those two in mind:
1. Skill Variety Range - SV (in rating points) - it will be an amount of rating points added/decreased thorough the season (I think for each competition, maybe for each jump?), for example possible to choose from 0-50 (but only in 10 points separation, so the pick-up box needs to include all possibilities, such as 0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50).
2. Form Rate (in percent) - it will determine the gaining/losing of rating from SV thorough the season, for example:
0% - mostly losing (7/10 competitions with minus SV), less steady (2/10 with no change SV) , rarely gaining (1/10 with plus SV),
25% - more losing than gaining (4/10 minus SV, 2/10 plus SV), semi-steady (4/10 no change SV),
50% - semi-losing(3/10 minus SV), semi-gaining (3/10 plus SV), mostly staedy (4/10 no change SV),
75% - more gaining than losing (2/10 minus SV, 4/10 plus SV), semi-steady (4/10 no change SV),
100% - rarely losing (1/10 minus SV), less steady (2/10 no change SV), mostly gaining (7/10 plus SV).
FOR EXAMPLE:
We have a Jumper and his abilities:
Normal: 1000
Large: 1000
Flying: 1000
Skill Variety: 0-10
Form Rate: 50%
Now, that jumper, in 10 competitions, should end up with ratings around 1000, for example 990, 1020, 1000. If we decide to make him a gainer, we can set his secondary skills like this:
Skill Variety: 10-20
Form Rate: 75%
Now he's gonna mostly add up, with more competitions on plus SV, and higher range. Of course, still might be possible for him to not gain at all (4 competitions +10 = 40, 2 competitions -20 = -40).
Main idea is that the jumper starts the season with 1000, and after each competition we see how much he gained/lost (I saw somewhere that there is idea of showing current CPU rating in world cup competition standings and You liked it

). The problem with this method is that the skillset for each hill rises/falls after each competition, so only for one type of hill rating. But what is nice in my opinion - you only set jumper's skills for each hill once, and after every competition you see them develop (I mean they save themselves in player edit menu after the World Cup is over!). For example you can create a weak player, set his skill s around 700 for every hill, set Skill Variety Range between 20-30, and 75% of Form Rate, and watch how with some time he reaches values around 900 or 1000. If you want to stop his growth, you can lessen Skill Variety or Form Rate. For the Form Rate it can be anywhere form 0 to 100%, not exactly 25, 50 and 75. I just gave those numbers to give general idea
