I think the best solution is the "wind freeze" someone mentioned already....so keep 5s waiting time, but until you actually start the jump, the wind will be frozen, so that everyone has the same conditions.

Would reducing the start light time to 3 seconds be a good compromise? It's possible to adjust it directly from the server settings.

Imo 3 seconds is perfectly enough, from what i've experienced the wind changes from bad to good after more than 4 second. Waiting in online is a big deal so Jussi, I think you should prioritize solving this issue

As mentioned earlier the only good solution is to freeze the wind until you click LMB/RMB to start the jump. 5 to 3 seconds won't change that much but it's a start
