Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
I know it is not really a new topic, but I did not find any poll on that. I think that it is easier to jump offline a 100 times on a hill than online.
I hope the poll will make Jussi think about that.
And I don't say that the offline records are all cheated, I just see that there is a big difference!

Re: Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
I made a poll on this in DSJ3:

The vast majority voted yes then. Even Jussi said "This could be a nice addition", here:

I'd say the same arguments are still valid, online and offline are really two different games. Let's get them separated!

Re: Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
...I am a little bit disappointed right now.
I thought it would be a step into more fairness. Jussi would it be so much work to seperate the records?

Re: Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
To me, the best part about online records would be: The player, that gets a new world record, will have an audience to applaud/envy/hate/cheer him

Yes you are right...it would be great to set a new record while playing online with the community. And I am sure, that the online records will be shorter than the offline!

Re: Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
Records should only count at world cup or national cup, not in the warm up area. And there must be at the minimum 2 players.!?
Re: Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
It's a good idea, but I think online records should only count when they are made in official tournaments. Otherwise some players (like me) will just be jumping alone in the night for records

Re: Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
Just make Official and Unofficial records.
Unofficial - jumped offline or online during casual contests.
Official - during official tournaments.
The record list displayed in the bottom right corner could be like:
PB: personal
NR: national
UR: unofficial
WR: official
There's no need for LR there in my opinion

Why should offline records be unofficial? I play this game to make records, offline...Metsi wrote:Just make Official and Unofficial records.

Re: Splitting up the Online and the Offline Records
It's just a suggestion for those who really want to split the record list. I myself am more offline then online jumper, so for me offline records are the main indicator of skillsTPo wrote:Why should offline records be unofficial? Only 38 votes?
Please vote on this topic to see what the community really wants. I do not say that the offline record are all cheated, because I have no proof, but I can say that those records are imposible to jump online!
Thats my opinion on that and I think it would improve the online gaming when Jussi make the split between the ofline an online records. I am not talking about official and unofficial! I just see here 2 different game modes with the same records, that are all played offline!

@Jussi: Is this idea on the "to do list", or the "maybe list" or in the dust bin?
