Lucky me I wasn't running for a position at the top of the 4 hills tournament anyway, but I kinda though that the DSJ community would be more fair than the FIS and cancel this "tournament" (which felt more like a punishment due to the extreme lag issues) for the 4 hills tournament. I feel sad for everyone who was still fighting for a top ranking and was stopped by the lag issues, but I really see no reason why the Saturday competition can't become the 3rd 4 hills competition. I even got totally disconnected from the DSJ servers after losing at least about 100 points (online score) due to those lag issues and had to call it a day.
I'm a little disappointed in the players that decided to make this farce count. You could have proven greatness by postponing the 3rd competition to Saturday and making the next Wednesday competition the 4th competition for the tournament. I guess you missed that chance, whoever decided to make this farce count ...
Taking advantage from this situation has got NOTHING to do with skill, y'know?

Simply put, no one did :-) We're all just following the database calendar (which I had created and sent to Jan-Erik BEFORE the season started).EyTschej wrote:whoever decided to make this farce count ...:
I'd compare this to Ga-Pa competition and say: let's just move on.
If some (or all) of the top players feel they've been heavily disadvantaged, we may try to reorganize the calendar, but I doubt that it's worth the hassle, AND, as far as I know, the main battle was between me and Adam, and he was simply out of shape this time, as he mentioned in chat, neither of us got disconnected, and the rest of the top standings is more or less the same as it was at 2/4.
Let's also hear some other (unbiased? :-)) opinions on this.
@TPo: Your reply is very childish and doesn't do any good
Martin, like I said: We don't need to make the same bullshit that the FIS makes. Taking advantage of an unfortunate situation for others got nothing to do with skill and that's a fact. I know you're probably the best DSJ player together with Lipinski and your skill is out of the question, but this 4 hills tournament is damaged goods ... because it's only going to be a 2 hills tournament to me. Congratulations to you for winning this 2 hill tournament slightly ahead of MAL.
I'm simply disappointed by the decision makers in this case. When the FIS had to cancel the Harrachov ski jumping (not flying) world cups in December, they postponed one event to Engelberg and the other to Zakopane, which was a good decision. The 3rd compeition of the DSJ 4 hills tournament could have easily been postponed as well. When the FIS didn't cancel Garmisch-Partenkirchen, they were criticized for their decision - and they deserved it, because it was a bad decision.
