v1.7.0 bug

Post by Hans Gunnar »

Just wanted to post a possible bug I noticed yesterday.

I was jumping the new hills online, and just set a PB on the Latvian hill (just beat the 69m mark) when the game instantly crashed to desktop and an error message was showing something like "error while writing records to plr file" or something.

I never saw this happening in the previous versions of the game.

Sounds strange. You should check that the player file is writeable (i.e. no hard disk failure), so that you won't lose upcoming personal hill records. You can do that for example by changing your player preferences at the players menu.

Yeah, I've set personal hill records fine both before and after this incident.

The only thing I've found in the Event Viewer is this:
"The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application"
Followed by this at exactly the same time:
"A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (Deluxe Ski Jump 3)"

But those messages seem to be normal when closing a full-screen application.

I'm running Vista 64bit btw.
