GeForce 8800 GTX/GTS problem

Post by Jan Henrik Øverland »

I just installed my new GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card and now the jumper is shimmering. Pretty annoying and it's much harder to jump precisely. I've heard the same problem appears with 8800 GTS. Is this something you could fix, Jussi?

(Now I see another thread with this subject (flickering problem), but as it's not answered I don't remove this one).

I don't have a clue what could cause it, so no solutions so far.

I guess you're running XP, not Vista? I'm running Vista at the moment. Can you please link the driver that worked for you?

Yep! ForceWare release 158.18 is currently the latest for Vista and it works fine for me! Latest for XP is version 158.19 and it should do the trick as well. Wonderful!

Dowload 158.18 for Vista here:

Dowload 158.19 for XP here:

Ehm.. I have already linked to ForceWare v165.01, that's the latest driver.. Not 158.18 and 158.19..

ForceWare 165.01 is the latest driver, if you follow my link you will find a download for XP 32bit, Vista 32bit and Vista 64bit download..
The driver is for every GeForce card.. The list includes FX, 6xxx, 7xxx, 8xxx and 9xxx (which doesn't exist, but is in the list for some reason)

EDIT: Links

nVidia ForceWare v165.01 for Windows Vista x86 (32bit)
nVidia ForceWare v165.01 for Windows Vista x64 (64bit)
nVidia ForceWare v165.01 for Windows 2000/XP

Download.. Installed.. Tested.. Working like a dream! Fixes a few other know game bugs and a slightly higher FPS rate than with v158.19 on Windows XP (I've only tested the XP version)

Sorry, I was asleep for a second and didnt notice the driver version in your message. I just copy/pasted the latest from Nvidia's website.

And yes, 165.01 is working perfectly :)
