Jury stayle ratings not about flight anymore?

Post by dullek »

I'm a bit surprised, that nowadays the flight itself seems to play no role anymore regarding style ratings.

Today in Garmisch, first round, Anders Jacobes got 17.5 ratings in average for his unstable, helicopter jump (but managed to do a good landing in the end).
While Wasiliev made a good jump with little to critisize, but didn't do a telemark landing, got much worse ratings, 15.5 by most jurors. Even in second round, where Wasiliev made a telemark, maybe not a very good one, but definitely a telemark, got still worse notes (17.0 mostly) than Andersen for his almost catastrophic jump, which was definitely the worst in flying style in the whole competition. I really don't understand this. Are the jurys ratings only about landings now?
