World Cup season 2007/2008

Post by EyTschej »

The Tour starts - it's time someone started a World Cup thread in this forum

I think, Morgenstern, Kofler and Schlierenzauer will be at 1, 2 and 3 overall. However, Morgenstern will NOT win all 4 single competitions.

From the German perspective, I just hope that the 6 extra starters (including "bino" ) will make it into the Top 50 both times. That's the least you could expect from a nation's B team that has had such big success in the past and that has made a lot of money as a result. It's a shame that the corrupt managers of the DSV seem to have taken too much of that money for themselves instead investing back into the sport. The reality, however, is, that it would already be a success, if you had 8 German jumpers per German event in the Top 50.

I leave it to the people of the other nations to valuate the chances of their jumpers

Severin: 123.0m!!!!!!! He made it! Great jump!!! You could tell right away that his jump was a good one, perfect take-off! That's the way ...

Musiol was alright ... the other 4 German "extra" jumpers ... well ...

What en exciting competition in Oberstdorf, wasn't it? First World Cup point for Severin - with two average jumps. He couldn't repeat his good qualification jump, but he only saved the better jumps for the GaPa, I'm sure

Bad luck for Peterka. Probably his best competition jump this season so far, he beat last year's tour winner Jacobsen - and then he was probably slightly underweight. Better luck next time ...

Hmmm ... there don't seem to be many people in this forum that are interested in ski jumping, are there?

Anyway. What a crazy ending of the 4 hills tournament! There is nothing sure about the 4 hills tournament - except for the fact that Ahonen always ends up top in the overall classment ...

And Severin should picture this result! Not only he was at rank 20, but he gotta take a look at the result list and all the names behind him such as Kasai, Höllwarth, Ammann, Schlierenzauer ...

Step by step, Severin ... step by step ...
