Primoz Peterka ends career

Best Slovenian ski jumper of all times Primoz Peterka announced that after difficult decision he is ending his career. He says he loves ski-jumping so much, but after faild to achive the ticket for first team this season, he and other people decided that it's time to end his career..

Peterka is jumper from Funaki, Goldberger, Okabe, Schmitt, Hannawald, Ahonnen, Widhölzl generation.

Sadly I didn't get to see Primoz Peterka in his glory years. I started watching ski jumping in 1999. It's sad that he didn't catch the first team lately, but that's because you have a lot of talented youngsters. Good bye Primoz!

He was one of my favorite jumpers back then. Especially after winning in Zakopane for the first time. Always happy and enjoying the jumping. One of the best

It's pretty sad that his decision was influenced by his hard work during the summer and subsequently not getting an A-team spot this season, especially since our team fielded Primož Pikl extensively during the start. I firmly believe Peterka could rack up better results that Pikl this season and maybe extending his career by another year, and even if he still decided to call it quits, it would have been a more dignified end of his jumping days. Here's to the man who showed the Germans, Austrians and Japanese (of the period of course and no offence meant) that they were not the only elite in this sport.

I've did some quick research and that wasn't podium from Planica 1997, but from Falun 1996, Peterka was 1st, Małysz 2nd, Weißflog 3rd
