Here's what's expected from a footballer (recommended first character!):
- Play league matches (~70 minutes) twice a week
- Train the footballer everyday (just a couple of clicks, including team training once a week)
- Develop your footballer from an 18 year old junior to an experienced 30+ year old player
How matches basicly work:
- Runs in 3-4 phased turns in the following order: (Ball possessor ->) Possessor teammates -> Defending team -> Outcome
- Player controlling contains three elements: actions with the ball (pass/shot/move), without the ball (pass reception/tackle/move/shotstopping) and choosing forward movement energy (a.k.a. momentum - jogging/sprinting)
- Player who is offline during a match is controlled by AI (a very stupid one!)
Tips for beginners:
- Be patient! This game has a relatively low tempo and therefore the learning curve is also relatively long. It's still a lot of fun if you're in an active team
- Active countries include England, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Indonesia. Brazil, England and Indonesia have the biggest number of active league tiers.
- Finland and Poland have semi-active leagues. Poland is good for juniors (DSJ community note)!
- There's currently a worldwide shortage of defenders.
- Best chance to find an active team is to write to the forums in the appropriate section.
Gathering a team from communities outside the game is a great way to start playing, and this is how I started as well. I'd personally love to see a DSJ based team somewhere in the game
