DSJ4 doesn't like minimizing the game at all [Win7, Win10]

Post by Tom2 »

I'm having lots of issues when trying to minimize DSJ4 on Windows systems.

Previously, when I used Windows 7 Professional (SP1) 32-bit, I got all possible types of errors: apphangs, appcrashes, "Unexpected internal error", "Abnormal program termination", and once my screen even went black and some seconds later I got the message: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered".

I updated to Windows 10 Professional 32-bit, currently on version 2004, and for 2-3 days there was no problem with minimizing and getting back to DSJ4. Until now. Few times the game turned off without any error, message, whatsoever, and now I got the "Abnormal program termination" from Microsoft Visual C++ library yet again.

It was never ever the issue in DSJ3, but in DSJ4 it works as I mentioned up there. My laptop is HP EliteBook 2570p and I use Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 as graphic card.

Before I do any further steps, does someone have a clue what should I do to finally get rid of all these errors?

EDIT1: I did install the most recent drivers for my graphic card using update feature in Devices manager on Win10. On first DSJ4 run, when I minimized, it turned the game off straight away without any error message yet again.

EDIT2: I forgot to mention I'm using DSJ4 v. 1.6.3, obviously.

Just reading the second sentence I'm 99% convinced it's faulty / malfunctioning hardware. Time to upgrade!

Yeah, it may be time to upgrade, my laptop gets a bit old after 8 years of using, sure. Anyway, if someone has a problem similar to mine, feel free to write it down here :P
