Idea for jumping style (v-style...)

Post by hallavard »

Dear Mr. Jussi

It would be cool if we had the opportunity to change jumping style on the skis. Like V-style W-style and maybe even old style with the skis close up together just for fun.

When you make a skijumper to world cup or when you make your player it can be a bar that can be pulled just like the one that controls mouse sensitivity. And if you drag it right the jumping style will get wider and wider :D

OR

It could be boxes to check off
( 1. V-style 2. Wide V-style 3. W-style 4. Wide W-syle or Parallel

OR

Change the style by pressing a button on the keyboard right before you set off.

Hopefully the style will affect the jump a little bit.

SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH I AM FROM POL... NORWAY

Please comment
Thanks :)

What is "W-style"?
DSJ3 Personal best: 314.0m (Slovenia)
DSJ4 Personal best: 196.5m (Planica) (what a great jump that was!...)

Styles

http://tinyurl.com/6bbvnrn-->Here is example of wide V style
Johan - Remen Evensen --> example of wide parralel style | |

Iwould say NO to old parralel style || because it's not used nowadays. Imagine Tomas Morgenstern Jumping parralel style in planica this year! It would be confuzing and weird!

Oh! And i voted YES

i agree with the different styles, but you should be able to choose them when creating a ski jumper. so it woudl look like:

Name:
Country:
Type of style:

and you would have 4 boxes and you could tick one, when you tick it the jumper would be shown in that position

It would be fantastic though as the one thing I really dislike with DSJ4 is everything feels so generic as there is mainly just one way to jump best in every hill in DSJ3 you could be slow on the skies and lay back on your skies and get great hight and good lengths, or you could go straight on and be very aggressive and go long but maintaining good speed so you would get good lengths.

In DSJ4 there is simply just one way to get furthest in Lathi and Lillehammer, if you try to be more or less aggressive you wont get as far as you would go otherwise, this change a bit depending on the wind conditions but normally you will do the normal routine on the jump and in air to achieve the best lengths like their is one given pattern providing the best jumps which wasn't the case, at least not in the same degree in DSJ3.

Therefore having different jump styles for each jumper would help spice things up and make them feel less generic and like each other. When I do a 20 player World Cup in DSJ4 it's the same tactic and jump over and over again, in DSJ3 I would have specific jumpers with specific styles (some really aggressive, some really laid back etc..) but this doesn't make any sense in DSJ4 as there is just one way to jump if you want to fly the longest.
