The more you jump - the better records you get (?)
The more you jump - the better records you get (?)
I thought. If all jumpers jumped equally amount of time per year, they would be drawer than right now. The big differences come from time of jumping. Some peolpe have nothing to do, except gaming, some have much work or school or friends or other things. Do you agree?

Yes, I think so. This is a skill based game - practice makes perfect.
Of course, there are some other factors as well. Someone could just have a bad mouse, or a laggy computer etc. Nerves and confidence matter a lot too, especially in online playing where you have to jump well every time (and not just get one perfect jump after 5000 tries). I've found that I lose a lot of points because right before the jump, I start to have doubts or I get distracted, then I start thinking too much about it and trying too hard, which leads to failure. Practicing doesn't help there so much as it is really mostly a personality issue.
It could be interesting to gather stats from say, the top 200 players and see how their amount of jumps correlate with total length, peak rating or something.

I've jumped about 140 000 times since October 2012. It gives about 200 jumps per day My peak (1750) was reached at the beginning of February 2014. Online TL: 3466,24 m, Offline TL: 3515, 26.
Peak: 1835
Total length offline: 3535.16 m
Total length online: 3500.20 m
Former online world record holder: Wisła.
Former offline world record holder in Oberstdorf! First jumper ever who broke and stood 230 meters barrier!

Re: The more you jump - the better records you get (?)
I had 140000 since January 2013 to May 2014 Actually I have about 170000-180000, but I don't know because I have new stats from May 2014. In March-April 2013 I was in TOP3 on Weekly Online Tournaments, last winter season I won World Cup, Marathon and Ski Flying. In January 2014 I did peak 1917. My Total Length online is 3500.72 (#1), and Total Length offline is officially 3539.68, unofficially 3540.03. (#1)
So, without hard training, it's really heavy to reach the top.
PS. Martin, seems to be good job

Yes, I realize that the number of jumps will be inaccurate because people may reset them, switch computers etc. And jump stats were not included in the first versions of the game. Try to estimate your number of jumps since the jump stats appeared (was it 2012?).
