Since this problem is unique to your configuration it's really difficult for me to try to resolve it.

All the sound files are bundled into single data file in legacy format, so it's not easy to change them.

Would reducing the start light time to 3 seconds be a good compromise? It's possible to adjust it directly from the server settings.

Adding custom start beam support shouldn't be that difficult. Maybe I'll add it later.
With regards the glove texturing I am not really sure how it could be improved.
