It's Open Dynamics Engine, but I doubt that it would cause this problem as such since other players haven't reported similar problems.

You don't want to get rid of it.
I don't have any solution for you at the moment.

Try deleting the ski jumper files.

Could this be related to or triggered by a hardware issue?

That shouldn't be triggered ever under any circumstances. Very difficult to say what could cause it.

for people experiencing the unexpected internal error, just start the game in administrator mode, and you should not get that problem again.

Okay, problem solved. Thanks all for your tips. Faulty RAM was the culprit in my case, as Jussi correctly suspected. The system was so f**ked up it was almost impossible to do anything (restarts upon launching Firefox, Winamp, DSJ4, anything..., plenty of Explorer.exe errors, Visual C++ errors, etc., restarts even during boot phase and Windows loading). I removed the faulty piece from its slot and everything's running fine again. What surprised me though - a few days ago, as part of my troubleshooting plan, I ran memory tests with Memtest86 and they didn't reveal anything, the report was all clean with 0 errors.
