World Cup issue

When I start the World Cup, it automatically simulates the matches without allowing me to actively participate. I want to be the one controlling the players and experiencing the matches firsthand. Currently, I only get to see the final results. How can I resolve this issue and actively participate in the World Cup matches?

For each ski jumper you have to select the player that is controlling them. Now you obviously have only CPU (computer controlled) ski jumpers.
