Re: Problem with Linux

Hmm, not really :(. It always worked for me quite easily. The only problem I've had was DSJ4's "clock error" which appeared before I ran winetricks directmusic, but if you're not even seeing that I'm clueless. Did you look at the wine logs, maybe there could be some useful info there (but ...

Re: Problem with Linux

Ok, so I'm guessing Wine 1.6.2? Or the development version (1.7.35)? You can check using 'wine --version'. Do not try to install DirectX in Wine, instead use winetricks d3x9 to get just the dll overrides. I'm not even sure if that is necessary for DSJ4. Did you run setup.exe (in DSJ directory) after...

Re: The more you jump - the better records you get (?)

Yes, I realize that the number of jumps will be inaccurate because people may reset them, switch computers etc. And jump stats were not included in the first versions of the game. Try to estimate your number of jumps since the jump stats appeared (was it 2012?).

Re: Problem with Linux

Which Wine version and what settings (in winecfg/registry)? Other than that it's very hard to debug somebody else's Wine issues. You could post some logs of course, but I probably still wouldn't be able to help... Anyway, I'm not sure if installing DSJ4 on Wine is even worth the trouble. As I said i...

Re: Problem with Linux

You can try to run it on Ubuntu with Wine but it is buggy (it runs but I'd say it's almost unplayable):

Re: The more you jump - the better records you get (?)

Yes, I think so. This is a skill based game - practice makes perfect. Of course, there are some other factors as well. Someone could just have a bad mouse, or a laggy computer etc. Nerves and confidence matter a lot too, especially in online playing where you have to jump well every time (and not ju...

Re: The future of DSJ

Hi, could somebody please tell me in a few words what happend since April 2014 ? Nothing. There are no current plans for future updates so it's likely that nothing will happen in the future either. Some people are upset because they feel that a non-evolving game = a dead game. And some others, like...

Re: Online ratings by period

Actually the option wasn't there earlier, I just read your post and added it in about 5 minutes :D. I think it should be quite easy for Jussi to do something similar as well.

Re: Online ratings by period

Now there is an option on stats4dsj.pythonanywhere.com to show only active players :) (what it does is just to exclude players who have zero weekly total length).

Still, it would be nice to get this on the mediamond page as well.

Re: Online ratings by period

Ah, ok. Yes that would be very nice. I guess there is some really slow decay of rating over time (or was it a drop to 1000 after x months?) but it really would be better if we could choose to see only the active players.

Re: Online ratings by period

Do you mean in-game? Because, you can already see this information on the Hill Records / Stats page: http://www.mediamond.fi/dsj4/hillrecords/?league=world&list=rat&type=online&period=weekly&age=0&version=1.0.0 . There's also a little web application (made by me) for tracking and...

Re: DSJ4 #INTERVIEWS

Heh, this is really quite entertaining, nice work Szymon :). Looking forward to future interviews. Hopefully you will be able to keep the once per week pace. I wish good luck to Bartek this season, it's always more refreshing when there's more than one serious competitor for world cup victory (even ...

Re: WOT at Christmas

Bad idea with a poll. Polish people choosing Tuesday, because are afraid to lose world cup, lose points... What's the problem with that? Of course people want to move the tournament to a date they can attend. A lot of people might not want to or be able to play on Christmas so it makes perfect sens...
